SITE TRANSFORMATION- IN PROGRESS!

You may have noticed some changes taking place on the site this past week - we're hard at work gearing up for July activities and re-engaging our national street teams. The goal has been to make the site function as well as possible for Street Teams and individual members and to highlight some key features. Here's an ongoing list of some new features, check back to see more as they are added:

*NATIONAL STREET TEAM MAP! - A custom GoogleMap which makes it super easy to zoom in and find the nearest Street Teams in your area, and also gives you a sense of how close other Street Teams are to your Team for possiblly planning regional events, road trips, etc. Each "Team" icon links back to the GROUP page her on FWT for easy access to contact members of that team.

THE W.A.T.S. model - you'll notice that the WATS model (WAKE UP, ACTIVATE, TRANSFORM, STEP UP) has been branded throughout the site now. THE WATS NAVIGATIONAL MENU at the top of every page details ways you can jump right into using the site whether you're a first time user or Street Team veteran. WAKE UP features intro information and links to important resources. ACTIVATE reminds you of all the tools you can use here on site (blogs, photo, video, music uploads) - TRANSFORM will soon feature resources and spotlights on stories and street teams from around the country - and STEP UP will feature our partners and our national themed issues and challenges.

FORUMS: The forums have been reorganized to also reflect a WATS structure. You can envision the WAKEUP Forum as being where you introduce yourself, share stories of your own personal wake up calls. ACTIVATE FORUM can be used to talk and help organize your upcoming events or highlight positive actions, while the STEP UP and TRANSFORM forums will focus on reflection and stories of leadership in your lives and community. - There is also a GENERAL forum, TOOLBOX forum and an ARCHIVE of all of the previous discussions from he past year.

MICRO-CHALLENGES: The Micros are designed to not only add great content and conversations to FWT, but also used to help guide you through tools on the site you may not have utilized in the past or never knew were available. Think of them as little mini tutorials! They won't be TOO hard, and will be designed for you to get up and take action here on the site right away.

CHAT: Taking all the feedback about CHAT, there are now several options to use CHAT. #1, Chat box is available on the main page. There is also a CHAT link in the main menu which opens chat in it's own page. To keep CHAT open in a popout window while you're surfing, go ahead and hit the "popout" on any CHAT screen.


EVENTS... You can now post your own EVENTS, which will be held for admin approval. FWT and Street Team related events will be "featured" events and appear first, but now you can post other Non-Profit and benefit concert events on your own!
