In terms of the symbol (I was totally unprepared to give a summary of the idea to ya'll that night by the way - sorry I wasn't more coherent!), I feel a need for a more specific symbol than the flag - in addition to the flag. In a way, I see it as a preparatory step. I don't think it's possible to build the America (or even the smaller communities) that we want without an honest assessment of our past and current collective history.

Ahh! I am a rambler! I'm going to send you the draft I've just written up. I'd love it if you'd send me your feedback. Tell me if it's clear, if you connect to the idea or not, why, any suggestions, criticisms...I would love to hear what you think. There are a few of us working on this, and after the smaller group has edited this draft I'm going to send it out to a much larger group to see how people respond.
