By day, I am an operational auditor/sometimes crime fighter in the retail industry. Sometimes by night too...it's shift work. I seek to lead by example.
How I would like to change the world:
I'd like to see people care about each other again...universal health care, an end to homelessness, government that works more for the people, and a chance for everyone's voice to be heard through their vote.
Tools I Have
I have great writing capabilities, a good support network, an employer with a progressive community relations policy, lots of passion for helping others, and good organizational skills.
Tools I Need
Like-minded people to network with.
Favorite Bands
Flobots, Weezer, all kinds of music...
What issues are you most passionate about?
yes

So based on your name I will guess that you're a knitter. If so, then me too! Let me know if you're interested in knitting for charity (if you don't already) -- I work with two organizations that love to have homemade blankets donated to them (one is for animal shelters and the other is for nursing homes). There are also several other organizations that I do a few things here and there with that you may be interested in.
Now if you're NOT a knitter, and your screen name is just a different kind of alias for you, you should consider taking up knitting so that people like me don't incorrectly jump to such funny conclusions! ;-)

believe me, i understand where you are coming from, when seeing the world for what it is and has become it is sometimes difficult to always have a positive attitude or outlook on life...as long as you know how to pull yourself out of these funks, you'll do great. The topic also upset me in a way. It began with so much potential and many of his ideas were progressive but not that well defined... not to mention that if he really wanted to spread his idea he would not discredit himself so easily... he and his idea may be destined for greatness, if he would just believe in himself and this world and gain insight into his own mind a little better.
I've been to the point where I've believed that we would bring about our own end, but while it is still a very real and grim possibility, I have gained a faith in the humanity i see today. I used to learn something new everyday that made me hate being human let alone an American. Now I try to find one good thing each day about us.
He is ready to change the ways of his thinking, He just may not be ready himself.

question? exactly who were you responding to in the utopia discussion? Did you read my response? Plz do if you haven't. I believe it clears up some of the larger gaps in his argument while still complementing the finer points of his plan. I understand where he is coming from and how his thought process is developing. I too have weighed the information present to me and have been careful not to invent what would be a communist scociety. Communist ideals are rather based on the good of the people, but until the government is understood as the people these revolutions will continue to turn into facism... we need to determine what works, what does not work, and what could work.
Whether you read my comment or not your opinion echoed many of the things i set forth in discussion even if you claimed to be a pessimist... Government=People was one of the first things I stated...just by realizing this you are 1000 steps ahead of the pack... why set yourself back by not having the conviction to bring this idea into reality?
I can't really travel that far, but would love join if you don't mind to hear what you're up to and see if I can adapt it up here and maybe recruit some reluctant friends. Thanks!
