Unsealing the doors of hope: Vision, Community and Relationship.

Greetings People,I'd like to thank anyone in advance for reading this post. So, I've missed the challenge by a few days, still thought I'd share. Most of what I've posted on the Fight with Tools website revolves around edge theories, alternative science and ideas that sometimes are just out of the mainstream and some that hover near wish-fulfillment and the lunatic fringe. I’ve stated that the change I want to see is about the liberation of the imagination, about opening ourselves to new or old stories, possibilities for different ways of being human and relating with one another and the world around us. As a youth, (I can no longer call myself that given age and life situation) I was inspired by some of the 'great' revolutionary and visionary thinkers, artists and activists of the 20th century and before. I had a good education, a loving though struggling family. I had a lot of freedom. I caught visions of what is possible for humanity, (like all youth should) for us as people... seemingly impossible, untold things, visions that changed my mind, began to open my heart, sensitized my perceptions and changed the chemistry of my body (for real). I still struggle with what they mean and how to embody them today. These visions were interspersed with periods of depression and despair as I learned more about the history and currents in our nation, in our world, in our souls. I felt(feel) the awesome gulf between what I could perceive and what I could actually accomplish and embody in life.I fell into the conspiracy theory trap. The reason I say it's a trap is because I’ve known a few people who've spent a lot of time worrying what the secret government is doing and feeling spied on all the time. It can become a kind of paranoid schizophrenia- no joke. The same can happen just by looking at mainstream 'acknowledged' events, history and control tactics. That being said, I believe what we usually experience doesn't come close to exhausting what is possible- in other words, I'm down for the sharing of ‘out there’ information. All the powers and knowledge of the so-called secret societies and the super wealthy are our powers, things that we are capable of in the right conditions. Break down the word 'conspiracy'- con as in com-meaning together- as in communication or community,spiracy- to breath, originating from spirit- as in in-spire or re-spiration. So it literally means to 'breath together' or 'to be of one spirit'.So what are our conspiracy theories? What is the one mind we are creating? Like Mrs. Lesley said in her blog- I'm interesting in community- and moving toward the communities that we want rather than simply against that which we don't, or which we oppose. Many of the above mentioned visionaries had much to say on these matters. Some quotes for the scholar in you, (mentally substitute the old gender slang!):"So we must fix our vision not merely on the negative expulsion of war, but upon the positive affirmation of peace. We must see that peace represents a sweeter music, a cosmic melody that is far superior to the discords of war. Somehow we must transform the dynamics of the world power struggle from the negative nuclear arms race, which no one can win to a positive contest to harness man's creative genius for the purpose of making peace and prosperity a reality for all of the nations of the world. In short, we must shift the arms race into a "peace race". If we have the will and determination to mount such a peace offensive, we will unlock hitherto tightly sealed doors of hope and transform our imminent cosmic elegy into a psalm of creative fulfillment." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Like how do we refocus those aggressive, assertive or martian (as in warlike) energies inherent in animal and human being into constructive and life serving ends?"The day will come when after harnessing the ether, the winds, the tides, gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love. And on that day for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire." Pierre Telihard De ChardinI think the shift from fear and aggression to love and aspiration is the spiritual fulcrum of our times. Seems to me that all the problems of isolation, ecological devastation and social injustice are directly traceable back to this. (Check the Flobots- they work on and spread inspiration, they tap existing feelings and look at the response.) If you look at posts like Michelle's its clear we have a real multi-leveled resource and energy crisis on/in our hands. I think love is a real tool and an actual energy- that can be focused and transmitted. The scientific community is just starting to validate this... I hope to post some info on this in the near future. In my despairing times, I began to realize how much people need each other...how much I need people... how I reach for 'community' like a piece of pie in the sky. That being said I know how messy human relationships are, how challenging it is to find and hold that one breath. So I'm interested in the blocks to communication, those emotional pains and wounds from oppression or just life that we have that keep us from being open and responsive to each other, from circulating love, creativity and wealth.I'm interested in education around communication, group dynamics, and interpersonal energies.I want to learn how to make shit- build, sculpt, sew, grow my own food, (sometimes I’m staggered by my true ignorance).I want to take part in group 'art' experiments- culture is collective art and survival. Again positive conspiracies!I struggle with how to actualize community with differences in race, class, gender, and outlook. And how to make creative community building a 'day job'.I struggle with my fears and prides and all that. But I believe that another world is possible- is imminent, is the path our survival if we choose it. I think we can have relationships, neighborhoods, cities based on beauty. I think we can get together and study and live the mystery... that is I believe that we can be truly cultured."I expect to see the coming decades transform the planet into an art form; the new man, linked in a cosmic harmony that transcends time and space, will sensuously caress and mold and pattern every facet of the terrestrial artifact as if it were a work of art, and man himself will become an organic art form." Marshall McLuhanTake a moment and dig that! See it in your mind's eye...On the Fight with Tools album there's a quote by a southern woman and civil rights activist- that once this country was willing to admit that it had been wrong about race, it opened some of those “ sealed doors of hope” and a whole flood of creativity surged forth and reshaped the nation. That flood and that spirit has been at work since, it may have always been at work! And we are due for another wave if we have the courage to open those doors.Several mouths full of lofty words. I’m a dreamer for sure. And I still feel the gulf between what I can and who I am. But I got two hands... and God help me I'm down to work.Peace- a reality.U. JonezSee More

CBS News segment on the Global Consciousness Project

Check this video. Mainstream validation that our thoughts and feels interact with reality directly, and that there maybe a planetary consciousness that we are just now remembering.

Hi! Welcome to FWT!! When you get a chance you should check out the groups page to find the street teams closest to you. If you ever have any questions, I'm around quite a bit, so I might know the answers. If I don't, I should at least be able to tell you who would. :-)
