How I would like to change the world:: They say that those who do not study the past are doomed to repeat it--I intend to aid those who cannot or choose not to take heed the warnings of those who have come before us and educate them. My passion is history, and with that comes a fearful yet hopeful vision of a future that can buck the trend and become what our ancestors failed to produce--a future that isn't familiar with concepts such as "oppression" and "war."

Additionally (but not really related), I love comedy and I think it's an under-appreciated platform for ideas and change. Comedians like Bill Hicks, Lewis Black, and Chris Rock have something to say, and the best way they can articulate their ideas is by making others laugh. Despite my serious, historian side, I often, instinctively, find the joke in each situation, and I think that with some practice and self-confidence I could turn that into something more constructive.

Tools I Have: Intelligence, imagination, motivation, willpower, an intuitive sense of humor

Favorite Bands: Nonpoint, The Verdict, John Mayer, 30 Seconds to Mars, Matisyahu, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Paramore, Flobots, Eminem, 12 Stones, Nickel Creek, Coldplay...I could go on forever, I just love music.
