About Me
Let them put up obstacles...Prove that it is possible!
How I would like to change the world:
Realization that we're connected to each other...A politically and socially consciousness individual, state, nation, globe and galaxy....which may help to diminish the current negative/greedy/selfish tendencies and instead, individuals and nations could work toward/for the common good/human consciousness/whatever you want to call it.....I would like the world to change so that there is equality, benevolence and respect for all and among all ethnicity/races, genders, orientations, nations and interpersonal relationships (which is a micro reflection of the larger world). I'd like to see educational equality, access to health care, fair housing practices, equal pay, fair access to world's resources, and occupational opportunities, and a GREENER PLANET, because it is getting HOT in Southern California!!!! A greater understanding and appreciation of the beauty of the planet, it's plants and animals....in every micro and macro way that one could imagine.
Tools I Have
Give me a tool, and I'll use it. I studied Sociology, Political Science and Psychology so I obviously hate learning about people, politics, and society (is Sarcasm a tool?). Tenacity. Creative. Understanding. Respect. An idea person, but behind the scenes. Passion, love, and respect for the people. Ability to not just hear, but listen. I have amazing like minded friends to pull resources from, in many different specialties of knowledge.
Tools I Need
Give me a new tool, and I'll try to learn it.

kinda need The PR person ha ha :)

Oh, and spelling abilities and abilities to speak all other languages...that would be practical.
Favorite Bands
To name a very select few of many, I heart Anthony Hamilton, Rage, India Arie, Panic at the Disco, or anything with that Concrete Jungle vibe. Many props to FLOBOTS. Besides being down to earth, creative and an intelligent group of people, their thoughtful music and actions re-ignited my fervor for the *possibility* of change. After 7 years under Bush, I started slipping into a state of hopelessness with the state of affairs, observing great mind sucked up into the mainstream, corporate ways of thinking. Then, I heard the words and felt the beats of Flobots....My belief that change is possible was re-ignited, because Flobots were living the dream...doing what they love and creating CHANGE on a Micro AND a MACRO level! :*) They're inspiring.
What issues are you most passionate about?

Hey Sarah!!!!

So, I really think it would be a good idea to maybe hold a small California Conference and meet somewhere in the middle of the State. I think it would be a great opportunity for everyone to collaborate ideas and thoughts on a plan of action. Maybe not anytime soon but in the near future. Let me know what you think! =)

Hey Sarah, it was really a pleasure meeting all of you too. I'm totally with you on the dance off idea. You are correct that I didn't move to CO just to win chili cookoffs (and it was red chile powder btw); it was a combination of needing to see other parts of the world, still wanting to be near NM, and having spent some time in Denver, having some close friends here and wanting to be able to fight Chipotle Mexican Grill on its home turf, among others.

If you ever come back to Denver I'll have to do a better job of not letting my shyness get the best of me.

We work with Food Not Bombs which is a purely grassroots movement. The Inland Empire could start a chapter if there isn't one in your area and it could be a FWT baby ;) The one in Columbia is pretty strong and we meet at other times to celebrate each others lives too. One of my favorite parts is that some of the homeless people that get thier feet on the ground come back and become part of the movement, so it becomes enabling too! It is one of my favorite things to do. If you need ideas for what the best food for mass people is or if you guys have trouble starting things let me know and I'll get you some resources.

That sounds pretty cool but I don’t really know any body. I was reading your information above, you sound like a really smart person, have you ever considered writing? I know that can change the world because it changed me a lot. if not that maybe a motivational speaker or something. I think you would be able to inspire a lot of people. any way I’m going to bed now so I guess ill talk to later. Thanks for all the information, it really helped. see ya.
