About Me
I am feverishly in love with life and currently divide my energies between caring for babies and forwarding the youth climate movement in South Carolina. I don't like to call myself an environmentalist, because I don't identify with all that it connotes, and really want to shatter those preconceptions by fostering a movement that approaches environmental and social justice issues (and all myriad of issues) in a holistic approach demanded by the interconnectedness of all our fights. And then i want to start an alternative elementary school and play with kids in the dirt in paint and in life!
How I would like to change the world:
I want to see a world that is sustainable: environmentally, economically, spiritually, culturally. I want to triumph a return to the community, an emphasis on local culture and local life. Self sustaining communities: community based agriculture, community based energy development, community based life.
Tools I Have
I have my passion and energy, my words and poetry, my voice and spirit. I have my network of other incredible youth activists, i have my defiance, my resilience and my family. And my determination.
Tools I Need
I need more understanding, more perspective, more sensitivity to how my being a white, middle class female influences my relationships and perpetuates cycles of oppression that could destroy the future i seek, i need a little more gumption and desire a lot more travel.

I'd also like to learn how to play the fiddle/violin!
Favorite Bands
I hate choosing favorites, I'm bad at it and it makes me feel lousy. But I really like (and i apologize, as some are not bands): brett dennen, philip glass, jao gilberto, here's to the longhaul, david rovics, anything that demands social justice or offers a critique of society to a beat i can dance to or maybe even those i cant dance to.
What issues are you most passionate about?
yes

Sounds good I guess lol...might give me a chance to check out Columbia...how to get back here may be the problem...As for squeezing I don't mind as long as no one else does(glad I've lost weight lol). How far south is this guy going? If it's before SC then it may be feasible to ride down with all of you then switch caravans somewhere down the road. If not, we probably could do the same so that maybe we have a 2 hr squeeze instead of a 10 hr squeeze. Of course this would only work if we all left at the same time. Any idea is fine with me as long as I'm not a burden. Is your group staying until Mon?
If you need any last minute input on the ride issue, it may be a good idea to give me a call when you get the chance. I might not be inside, so I'll try to keep my mom's cell handy. My mom tends not to answer foreign area codes, so leave a message on the machine and we'll pick it up if not at first, but I'll tell her to look out for your call. If I'm not there or no one picks up call 843-421-9177. Hopefully I'll have that on me. I'll also monitor my messages as well as I can today.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly. ttyl and see you tomorrow...peace

Definitely, Oh well for Friday, but sounds great! I was just getting a little worried that I might not be able to. Glad to know that I'll be meeting you and L and everyone else here soon. My number is 843-236-9591 and address is
3945 Williamson Cir
Off of Claypond... right by the Hard Rock... If they need further directions just tell me so...I truly hope that the people there are going to be open to radical ideas.

Hey Sara, hope you are doing great! Just wanted to tell you that I just finalized my registration. I'm volunteering Sunday morning. I'm excited about the fact that the Roots are playing. I saw them once at HOB. I wanted to meet them and share a song with them, but they didn't come out of their bus...so I spit one for Travis of Gym Class Heroes instead. Had heard that ?uestlove had left immediately after the show. Wish I could share a song up there lol
Well I'll talk to you later...peace :)
