Position of Power

Once.

Once!

There was a great man,

who took a bad land,

and made it a great land

taught folks to take stands

and shake hands

and make plans

for the days that he had gone

to keep the cycle of goodness keeping on.

Then we made systems,

systems systems systems,

because we saw the fruits of goodness

and wanted those forever.

But this machinery

has failed us

and that cross that you just nailed… Continue

Briefing:

Hopefully, you'll see some of these inside an album jacket/poetry collection someday.

Some notes I wrote on my phone while driving/bored at work (no continuity, different subjects):

Commodity fetishism

I don't live to work, I work to live

Not a weak minded materialist, dominated by his purchases

That has you oblivious to the reality of what this earth is

But sun shines not on the altar of the worthless.

Drugs (and people who find… Continue

Verse 1.

I want to speak but,

They cut off the water supply, so my throat can't lubricate

Plus Rogers just slammed me with 70 a month to communicate,

So I'm sending this text message via vocals,

Cuz the rest's stressin me to postal,

that is, I call the mindset postality,

In my locality, a life on no salary, while they pallet me

to 80 years in mortal kombat, that's the fatality

Tit for tat, who wins? I say, let the ballots see!

But that's the joke…

Sorry to hear you didn't make it to St. Andrew's. Hope things are going well in Chicago!

Al Gore spoke a lot about climate change and the fact the American government has been borrowing money from China to buy oil that we then use to destroy the environment and in turn the lives of so many humans. There was an overwhelming use of the word change, which is what we need. I would have to believe that they (Biden and Obama) will actually stay true to what they are promising America and the rest of the world. Obama spoke a lot about tax initiatives to help students, he spoke about those who are afraid of the change that we are hoping for, that those are the McCain supporters and that everyone needs to reach out to each other and let everyone know that we will help each other in the future months not only to make the change happen but also to take care of each other in the difficult transitional times. I found his speech to be moving and almost a little preachy but excellent none the less. He even said "all the right things" by adding that not only does he love america, but so do we and even McCain, McCain has already released an advertisement directed at this... I feel like i'm rambling so I'll stop for now

It's too bad there isn't much going on in Canada, but I am sure that this message will spread there too. I think that it is still important that someone should try to start a group in Canada. I know there aren't a lot of people from Canada involved right now, but if it is available to them, maybe more will become involved. I did watch the DNC last night and I am watching it currently. I am enthralled in this election, and I will do anything I can to ensure Obama's presidency. What do you know about our politics??? I know that news coverage is different in Canada, maybe not much different, but I always like to hear other peoples' perspectives. What do you think? I really enjoyed Bill Clinton's speech yesterday, but so far Al Gore has been the most moving. Obama is about to speak now.

Hello, I am really enjoying everything you've written, it's quite impressive. I am glad you are a member of the Detroit group. Are there any groups in Canada? Do you come to Detroit often?

They are so good live. Yeah their fall tour is going to be great. Their new album is supposed to be amazing. I can't wait for it to be released.

Hey we can't see them all but you can find a friend out there that want's to join FWT. Consider it a pay back to a well deserved band that kicks ass and open's minds. That is really shitty though, getting stuck at work. We'll have to figure something out and set a street team day. Those with passports, we could car pool to your side and get the option's of Canadians on the "war for your mind." One of us has to have a camera we could turn it into a video. Could be sweet... Detroit side option, Windsor side option. FWT! haha, just an idea.
