About Me: I believe that if every person did just one thing to make a difference, we would all live in harmony.

How I would like to change the world:: By showing individuals the little things they can do to improve the world around them. Education is the key.

Tools I Have: Education. I have a BA in English Literature with a minor in Honors -- the focus on the degree was in on race and gender studies, and I spent most of my time analyzing the social and economic oppression experienced by "sub-class" people. Interesting note: I took two semester-long seminar courses with Ann Braden (honored by the Flobots) when I was getting my BA. The courses were The People's Movement and Research in Social Justice. My capstone project for one of the courses was on the effectiveness of Rage Against the Machine in evoking social and political consciousness and change. So odd that something I undertook so many years ago would still be so relevent today.

I also have an MA in Professional Writing and Editing that allows me to write well-thought-out letters and think from a marketing point of view when convincing others to change their opinions.

Right now I'm also working on obtaining my MBA so that I have the structured tools and knowledge needed to help non-profits more successfully meet their goals. I think it is so important for activists to understand structured business practices so that they can turn the systems around.

Tools I Need: The support of like-minded individuals who are willing to work through thick and thin to get the job done. I need people to prevent me from activist burn-out.

Favorite Bands: Oh, where do I start? I will just say that my two favorites of all time are Nine Inch Nails and Tori Amos, and my other faves include, but are not limited to, the Flobots, RATM, Nirvana, System of a Down, and Weezer.

The list goes on and on...I wear many hats.
I love to knit for charity, but the group I made donations to here recently disbanded sadly...there is an annual local drive, but it is also over.
I am definitely open to suggestions if you know of any groups. It takes me a while though (with so many different hats and all).
