Barack Obama's presidential victory has placed our nation in a historic moment with the real work of trying to heal the discords within our nation having just begun. Noted historian and scholar, Dr. Vincent Harding will lead us in dialogue and discussion around the following questions: How didwe get to this moment? What exactly is this moment? How do we move fromthis moment toward a more perfect union?See More

About Me
I work hard and I play hard. I do a lot, but have narrowed that down a lot and have a focus for getting things organized and done. I am busy in an activist community that covers criss-crossing issues. I love it, I love them, and I love spending my time sticking it to this patriarchal mess of a system and creating awareness towards a future that includes a free and safe future for all our communities.

I am just trying to do more than get by, make some amazing shit happen, create some cathartic and maybe cataclysmic music, art and interactions. I am trying to put more back in this world than I take, not the easiest feat considering what a consumerist system I partake in daily.

What I am doing with my life:

~raising three amazing boys and being in awe of them constantly.

~playing in a music collective- www.myspace.com/tit4tatrox. It's like a band, but anyone can join. the only requirement is you have to be up to play whatever we all come up with, and can't be a "hater" (you know- transphobic, homophobic, racist, ageist, etc)

~creating art and working on art in the youth project my niece and I founded.

~media justice work is my passion. I have been on local to international TV, radio, papers and blogs, and get my own pieces out to these outlets as well. I have practiced and studied on my own, and will implement even more so with the youth project my family works on. I love making documentaries, writing, interviewing, the works.

~graphic design. self taught media junkie. I mainly like messing around, but when I have time will create shirt designs for my silk screen shop, logos and flyers for others, or mess with web pages.
How I would like to change the world:
Spin it the opposite direction, ha ha, take that you idiots!

No, really...

I would like for there to be a recognition of various world view points and an emphasis on a way for us to all coexist with the respect, safety, and nourishment we need in this life to be whole, happy humans. Key words: Respect, social justice, human rights, peace
Tools I Have
Lots of resources--
Connections with Denver and Colorado environmental actions; anti-war and pro peace groups; immigrant rights movement; the Transform Columbus Day Alliance; and local to national networks with Native leaders fighting everything from Peabody Coal at Black Mesa to grave desecration everywhere to the Save the Peaks coalition and the Western Shoshone Defense Project, to name a few.

I have access to media-- mainly online blogs (see www.bsnorrell.blogspot.com), radio (see www.earthcycles.net), and I am also trained in writing press releases, filming and I document lots of events, interviews and the like with photos, video and digital recorder!

Some local media contacts, and a good nose for meting out new ones.

Graphic design prowess

I am good at putting on concerts- have band contacts, know what to do.

I am good at organizing any event, but pretty burned out on it too!

I would love for my band or myself to play at a show- we play at the cool kid fundraisers. :)
Tools I Need
New camcorder & several computers!
Software for editing video- like ProTools
People, en masse, to participate in all the amazing projects we work on.
More contacts!
More training, tools, and resources for an indigenous youth media program we are developing.

Brenda Norrell's Censored Blogspot & Why I Love It So

Brenda Norrell is a Warrior Woman.

She is a white ally of indigenous people all over Turtle Island, and was terminated at Indian Country Today in 2006 after undergoing constant censorship for years and being an amazing champion for getting truth (and in my opinion, justice) for indigenous struggles out. She has undergone threatening posturing from government agents and consistently gone to where marginalized people are being dehumanized by a continuous barrage from colonial powers.

This awesome link details some of the outrageous things she was censored on. I am writing this because I want you to go to her blog every day and see what is happening to indigenous peoples day to day in this world- and what is NOT going reported in the highly circulated, sell-out media circuses. You think you know this country, but you don't really know until you pay attention to the wars being fought within its borders.

Now head to The Censored Blog or paste www.bsnorrell.blogspot.com into your address bar and see why I so highly trust and love this dear friend of mine for what she does for indigenous peoples everywhere!

Add her to your favorites, join an RSS feed, make it part of your life. She is also open to news reported in indymedia fashion- you can submit through her website, and her circulation is very effective- her articles are on Google news and more. From the site: "She currently serves as human rights editor for the U.N. OBSERVER & International Report and contributor to Sri Lanka Guardian, Narco News and CounterPunch. "
