How I would like to change the world:

I know there are things that I would like to see be different but I'm not always sure how that will affect EVERYTHING else. For that reason total control and decision-making authority makes me anxious--especially when they're in the hands of people who fight to escape accountability and/or support.

So I guess my change would have to be that people are committed to understanding how the changes they are trying to make will affect everything else at the same time.

Tools I Have

Leadership, Facilitation, and Charisma - I'm social, outgoing, and contagious. I used to think contagious was a strength, then a weakness and now I'm learning to utilize it in a balanced and productive way. I am a trainer/educator helping groups to organize, clarify, and accomplish goals.

Expressions - A neighborhood-based youth group in southwest Detroit that uses Lowriding, Graffiti Art, and Media to promote positive youth development

Young Nation - An organization committed to education, training, and passion-based projects as a means toward positive youth development in urban communities. The goal is to mobilize groups of urban youth with little to no funding building on social capital and sharing/mentoring rather than on limited resources like money and space.

Tools I Need

A system(s) that works.

I'm not a solo pilot but rather a team player. I need to be a part of or create a system for sponsoring myself and others in things that we are passionate about so that we can be 24 hour employees toward the things that matter most to us without feeling like we're working and so not getting tired/burned out!
