I did not go to that as I had work, but I got work of that from Mike Copass, a local PDA politician.
Add him on Facebook for local organizing information and rallies.
The Tea Partiers are coming...This was taken from a local blog, the OB Rag. I'm going to be out of town, but if anyone is interested in counter-demonstrating, check out this article...
Local Tea Baggers will be staging an event on Saturday, February 27th. Local right-wing radio pundit, former felon and mayor, Roger Hedgecock will be the keynote speaker. The rally will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, just north of the Star of India along Harbor Drive.
San Diego Tea Party members held a similar demonstration in October. Only a handful of counter-demonstrators gathered at that rally, and were vastly outnumbered. This time the event is billed as their “first anniversary.”
Sundays are good for me too.
lets get something going. I prefer to meet downtown since that is where I live and I rely on public trans. to get anywhere. But I'm willing to work something out.
Students and faculty through out California are oranizing walk outs, teach outs, marches and protests on March 4th. Everyone is welcomes to participate, whether you attend school or not, etc. Meet up, support us and support education as a priority.
I go to City College and will be attending the shindig from that kick off point. I'll be carrying my flag. Bring yours. For solidarity.

feb. 21 is san diego community serve day, organized by a church in solana beach. registration is closed, but there are still openings on the list. if you click on an open activity (or even a closed one) you can find the phone number for that activity's organizer. call them directly to get involved. some examples include painting, home repairs, preparing lunches for homeless, setting up a community garden, making posters, etc. here's the link: http://www.solanapres.org/Missions/LocalMissions/CommunityServe/def...

As far as I know there aren't any organizers and no one really speaking up to be one.
I would be willing to step up and take the task, however I am employed and go to school.
Lets get together, then decide who takes the reigns.

Hi guys. I hope the holidays have been well for everyone so far. I've been looking at the posts for the past couple of months and its good to see there has been some activity. I read Popkin's post on Build A Community, and I think its a good idea. It is important to get together and build a coalition people all interested in the same thing. I would also suggest trying to brainstorm to see what type of projects you would all like to participate in and start tackling them. There are also seems to be people on here that are ready to do something. Are there any organizers for the SD street team? Is anyone willing to be one? There can always be more than one. And feel free to share responsibility. There are also information packets that FWT sends out that can help with putting together meetings, activities, help with putting together projects. So if you are interested in organizing and getting the packets, just let me know. Just let me know if you need help with anything. By the way, there may be a west coast conference in the works that could be coming soon. If you are interested, let me know. I will be trying to put something together soon. You can shoot me an e-mail at agarciajr36@gmail.com.
