Hey, just joined today. Seems like you've been a bit busy with some things for a while. I wasn't sure if there was a Jersey ST or not. Well now I know. I'm from swedesboro. I was planning on making a ST at my school, or at least get my school to agree on having a group for FWT. Message me with info.
Thanks to all who attended. The Urban Greenspace Sustainability Project was a success! I would say we had approximately 25 volunteers from our group, friends, and local orgs and neighbors. We turned a pretty much abandoned, overgrown, trash-filled lot into a beautiful garden, including a juneberry tree! We hope this brings a positive change to the community, where they can continue to beautify their neighborhood and take pride in it.
I'm going to try to add a couple of pictures of the end result here, but Dan of Philly got lots of video footage of the project. Please look out for the finished video on the site an especially on the Philly Street Team Page.

Hey guys, coming from Hackettstown, NJ. Just joined today, and i've been putting off joining something like this for a while. I'm up for anything really. And i know of Trinity Church's charity drives in the town. But could anyone help me with finding rallies and what-not as well?
Thanks.
Heya, kids!
I live in Galloway, about 15 minutes outside the East Coast's den of iniquity: Atlantic City.
I'm a former NYC resident, been down here 2.5 years. (the full story is on my profile page.)
I've been pissed off and angry for well over a decade now, although for a few years I was too incapacitated to do anything effectively. I'm conscious once again, though, and willing to fight.
So, anyone in the area? I'm mobile, so pretty much anywhere in South Jersey works for me, at least on weekdays. I spend about 2 weekends a month back in good 'ol NYC, visiting my honey. She's conscious too, gotta get her to sign up as well.
I lived in New Brunswick for almost a year, John Aspray, but I ended up getting committed to a mental hospital (LONG story). You have it easy, John, living in a college town. Down here it's sports fans and gamblers. Finding people who actually care is quite the chore. Which sucks, because despite (or because of) the casinos in AC, the rest of the city is a ghetto.
Hey folks, I'm also new to the NJ Towns group. I work with an organization in New Brunswick called Empower Our Neighborhoods, as well as a student org at Rutgers known as Tent State University. We're in the business of democratically operated institutions to handle community problems and build mass democratic power for the people of NB.
Right now, we're locked in battle with the decades old political machine of John Lynch and company. We've just come out of an election where we took control of half the seats on the Board of the local Democratic party, and are working to put together a tenant's association to protect the city's renters, as well as expand access to kids activities at the local Teen Center and organize community parties and litter cleanups. We run a full-time program doing this kind of stuuf, so if anyone is interested in plugging in, feel free to get in touch!
