Thanks for the reply. What kind of volunteer work is available? I might be interested; the only thing is the distance might be tough. But yeah if you could let me know some of the details I'll look into it. That'd be great. Thanks!

Hey Emma,

If your looking for something to do. My group Up with People is looking for and working with some projects in the Canton area. I know its on the other side of Boston from you but its something going on. We are there to support the Mass Hospital School Foundation which is a really amazing foundation. Hey guys,
So I don't know how often people check back into this group here, but I'm hoping that there are at least a few of you out there who are looking to join up with the people in our area to start working on some different projects.
If anyone else is here and would be interested in getting involved in some different things, please contact me!
I live in Nashua, NH, which is about 40 minutes outside of Boston, but I'd still be able to meet AT LEAST every once in a while (at the VERY least).
Anyhow, I have a couple different ideas for potential projects. One involves the Oxfam Action Corps in Boston ( http://bostonoxfamactioncorps.blogspot.com/ ) and the other involves an organization which I have been involved with a little bit in the past, called Eleanore's Project, Inc ( http://www.eleanoresproject.org/ ).
Like I said, if you're interested, please contact me! I'd love to get some things started :).

Oi Beantown! I work with an organization called Up With People. Our mission is to bring the world together using music as our primary message as well as activating communities to get out and volunteer. We travel, live with host families, do community service and perform all over the world. My cast is currently in Taiwan, and will be coming to Canton October 4th - 11th. We will be working with the Massachusetts Hospital School Foundation . I'm looking for anyone who wants to help find some local organization that need some help. We will be bringing 80 young people from 17 different countries that want to help to Canton. I need beds for them and work for them. Let me know if you are interested in getting involved.

well I only got 2 donations for hats and scarves but I wound up making a 30 winter hats and 15 scarves for the hat drive they were donated to the local Boys and Girls Club on this past Friday. I hope next year I can get more donations but that's not too bad. they really appreciated it though. well happy new years

Hey I'm Heather from Taunton, MA and I'm currently working on a Hat/Scarf Drive. So as of right now I'm currently up to my neck in making Hats and scarves, and trying to gather as many other hats and scarves as I possibly can so I can give them all out.
Some of the places they're going include... the Boys and Girls Club, possibly the big sisters and big brothers foundation (if I can get ahold of them) some local schools here in taunton, and I'm going to try to get up to boston's cancer center to give those kids some special hats, and I'm going to be hanging some up on the Taunton Green for the Homeless to get to, since I don't think we have a shelter here in taunton.... but this being New England and near winter, it gets mighty cold at night and they could all use a little warmth. But if anyone wants to help out or just donate some hats/scarves, Please get a hold of me.
I could totally use the help, I'm kinda doing this by myself so any advice would be great too!

Good Day to All

My name is Infinte and I just recently joined the FWT website. I am interested in joing the local activities, as I live in Woburn, MA and woudl like toget involved as I can. I noticed the next wake up sessio is tomorrow (11/30) in Boston at Atlantic Ave. It states that 9it is at the book kiosk which is fine but what is the agenda...are we going somewhere else or is the meeting held outside. If someone could let me know I would appreciate it.
