Its a muslim thing

jk but Idk why either, I noticed that too.
It is definitely NOT a Muslim thing. It has nothing to do with the religion of Islam nor is it a characteristic of Muslims. I would respectfully invite you to educate yourself about this issue as correct knowledge of Islam is very important in modern America's political climate.
My goodness how refreshing it is to here that another American has an open mind with regard to modern Islam.
because roughly 2000 years ago or so a couple people of the jewish religon decided that jesus should die. they were blamed as a group for the incident. kinda like after 9/11 with muslims.

people like to have a scape goat for their problems. hittler picked them out as the cause for their economic colapse after WW1 which lead to the holocaust.
Yeah I see among the younger people that being called a "jew" is used as a insult...and i havent really been able to understand that, I've asked people why the hate jews, and they just end up saying they dont really know.
i dont hate jews.. i just enjow making fun of them.. lol not because i want to, just because ppl find jew jokes funny. nothing personal but like when you go to a comedy show you understand your going to be made fun of. lol
the thing about some folks being made fun of while other folks aren't is that it is usually based on some sort of ideology that allows some people to be targets - and particularly targeted by people with more systemic power. so when someone's identity is made fun of in a "laugh at myself" kind of way and i usually am not the victim of violence because of that identity, then its funny. but to folks whose particular identities are ones that make them increasingly at risk for hate, discrimination, genocide, and violence, jokes about them feel very differently. i wonder what it would be like for us to stop using each others' identities (and particularly identities that are targeted in ways which make them victims of hate crime and discrimination) as humor material?
I agree...People have to be careful because they can't be sure of the consequences of their humor. There are plenty of people that are very funny who poke fun at themselves or how people stereotype them. However, if someone hears a Latino comedian talking about stereotypes, then it seems ok to joke like that. After all, I heard that joke on HBO.

That brings up an interesting double standard. I can joke about my body image, or my parents' religion, or how my ditzy blonde friends act. But when someone else wants to talk about my bra size, I don't always find it as funny. While joking about such stereotypes that divide us can be a good thing that brings us closer together as a community, it also can take a serious problem and expand the problem. A minority that has already endured a lot of hate speech now has to put up with constant "jokes" about their religion...Jokes that aren't meant to harm, but may be very hurtfull to the subject matter.

A fine line to be crossed.

I was thinking about the book that a lot of preteen age kids read, Dogs Don't Tell Jokes. It features a comedian, and I can't remember the name but the main character invents fictional person, and she's teh one that he tells jokes about. :)
Since it's a religion, and religion is the root of most evil, I'd say it has to do with religious beliefs.
I dont hate anyone because of race or religion. If you are refering to zionism and the oppression of Palestinians that is a different story. The Palestinians are being killed off by the isreali government. There are many Jews who even speak out against that. But if you are refering to Jews in general and not the illegal isreali government then im with you all the way. There is no room for making fun of Jews.We all know the horrible genocide Jews went thru at the hands of hitler,we cannot forget the events that these strong people went thru.
I'm Jewish, and I get called 'jew' as an insult all the time. I say it's enough of this crap! Why insult people for something they believe in?
I have a response to Chris who said "religion is the root of most evil".I understand that religion has been misused many times in history, but isnt it a little easy to blame the religion instead of the people that perverted religion? You have to remember the people that fought against u.s. imperialism, such as Martin Luther King JR. and Malcom X.Both of them were deeply religous men.Religion is only dangerous in the hands of feeble minded people. But back to the subject, people who make fun of people for being Jewish are idiots who have nothing better to do.Plain and simple.
