National Immigration Solidarity Fast

Coloradans for Immigrant Rights is joining the nationwide fast & vigils in solidarity with the people in Arizona affected by SB1070. Different regions of the country have been observing a "rolling" vigil and from July 30-Aug 2 the entire country will participate in a national 3-day fast.

We invite the FWT community to join in!

Here's how:

1) go to the Change Takes Faith website (link in this event posting) and register so that you are counted in the national numbers of folks observing the fast

2) choose to partake individually in the fast (there are MANY ways to fast, listed in the handbook)

3) organize with your faith community, friends, family, or neighbors to participate with you - support each other, hold a vigil together, take action together

4) download the Solidarity Fast for a Different Future Booklet in the discussion on FWT "National Immigration Solidarity Fast" to support you and your friends during the three days

5) rsvp to this event if you are participating so that we have an accurate idea of how many folks in the FWT community are ACTIVATING on this issue

6) contact Seth for any support or questions you have about this event - we want as many folks as possible to participate

Durango is all over this & our rally/vigil is tomorrow (July 30) -- super super stoked!
AND
I have friends that are participating in the fast from various parts of the country!
(even my very own children are giving up various foods starting tomorrow thru monday! i'm so proud of them!!)
