life seems to suck at every corner i get put down then im happy but then the next day im just sad again.
is it just me or am i not alone.

It's not just you.

Now the problem is determining is this is just normal realizations that the world sucks or is there a biological cause for your swings. I would suggest talking to a doctor about this if only so you can get a better understanding of your mood swings and how to recognize when one is happening.

But you're definitely not alone.
You're not alone. It's hard to tell from your post just what's going on, but when I'm in that place, things I need to remind myself of are things like:

-you're not alone.
-reacting maladaptively to a crazy situation/society/world does not make you crazy. It makes you sane.
-If you really are in over your head, get some help, from someone you trust.
-I don't know how old you are, but if you are anywhere between 13 and 25, have patience and compassion for yourself and your moodswings. My moodswings and craziness stabilized a LOT when I was 23-25. I actually hated being told this when I was in high school/college, but it is true. You need to do the other above things too, like working on yourself and asking for help, but time is a great ally.

When I was a teenager I was depressed, where yeah, every day seems the same and there is never any joy in anything you do.
You have to make ajustments *this came over time as I got older* to the way you percive the world around you. Step back and take notice of the things that DO make you happy. This sounds cliche, but it's true. You can sit and wallow in self pitty, hoping for someone or something to find you and help you, but you will never accomplish this until you can find the confidince in yourself.
There is a lot of shitty things, but you will never feel joy with out feeling sad. There's a balance.

Life does suck.. but I fucking love it. :)

What's so good about Catcher in the Rye?
I'd guess that Catcher in Burning Rye recommends it for two reasons:

A. Catcher in the Rye is a classic coming of age story. If you haven't read it, I'd highly recommend it.

B. His avatar (and mine) is taken from the anime Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and the image is used to disguise the Laughing Man's face (elite hacker). The words around the outside are a quote from Catcher in the Rye:

Full Quote:
"I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes. That way I wouldn't have to have any goddamn stupid useless conversations with anybody. If anybody wanted to tell me something they'd have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. They'd get bored as hell doing that after a while, and then I'd be through with having conversations for the rest of my life".

The partial quote on the Avatar is:
"I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

And at one point in the story the Laughing man adds "Or should I?".

The original book and the use of the quote in the GitS:SAC are by a character who is disappointed with the world he sees around him. In many ways both stories are about changing the world, much like we are trying to do here.
Sorry to hear this. It's important for you to remember this... everyday is really a new day. A new start.

You must train your thoughts to contrast any negative things in your life. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT, not what you dislike or don't want in your life. Focus on the WANTS in your life. Here's a little exercise I've found very helpful when jealous thoughts or negativity creep into my mind. WRITE A CONTRAST LIST.... on one side of the list, write all of the things you're hating or don't want in your life right now. On the other side of the list or slash, contrast it with what you DO WANT in your life.... here's an example.

FLIP THE SCRIPT!!!

DON'T WANT / WANT
I don't want people to put me down / I want people I encounter to be awesome.

I don't want to feel sad / I want to always feel positive and happy. Life is good!

FEEL FREE TO ADD IN "WISHES" like a wish list....

I can't find the perfect mate / I'm excited about some day finding my perfect match.

I don't have enough money / Money comes to me easily and from many sources.

I have a sucky apartment / I want to live in an awesome place in an awesome neighborhood.

----

Fill this list with as many as you can... and soon, you'll discover you have many wants to focus on. When you convert a negative thought to the positive side, just delet the DONT WANT-- You then need to sit and meditate or dwell on your WANTS side. If you do this, you will notice your life changing around you by just the sheer power of the law of attraction and positive thought vibration. Might sound nutty at first, but try it.... it works!
