Hello Fight with Tools!
As you probably know, Fight with Tools is a program of Flobots.org, a non-profit organization formed in 2008 by the Flobots as a way to build on the socially conscious messages in their music, and to reflect their belief that music and art are vehicles for action.
Flobots.org has developed a variety of innovative programs that combine music and arts outreach with social activism and leadership development.
As a member of the Fight with Tools community, YOU are a very important part of this work!
We need YOUR help to keep up this exciting work.
Please make a donation today! Your dollars will be used to keep our website online, to provide stipends for the network of community members, teachers, artists and volunteers who keep our programs going strong, and to purchase art supplies and materials for community classes and meetings.
You can donate through this site by clicking "STORE," or through
http://www.flobots.org by clicking “Donations and Incentives.” There are a variety of goodies available on the site, as well. (For every gift of $100 an up, we’ll include a copy of Onomotopoeia, a recently reissued, limited-release solo record from Flobots’ Jonny 5.)
ABOUT FLOBOTS.ORG and FIGHT WITH TOOLS
Flobots.org is a non-profit organization supported entirely through donations and grants. The band itself makes a contribution (three of the six band members serve on the Board of Directors), but we need additional support as we grow.
Fight with Tools members have done impressive things. In 2008, you registered more than 2,000 first-time voters during the election. FWT members have planted urban gardens, led food drives, developed educational programs and established strong communities and street teams. With more than 5,000 registered members, the Fight with Tools community is a powerful force for positive social change!
Flobots.org has big plans and goals for 2010, including launching the Fight with Tools Training Institute and Art to Activism Outreach Programs. We’ll also present a variety of thought-provoking events at the Flobots.org Community Space in Denver, from crafts workshops for kids to exhibitions from non-traditional artists. We'll also continue our cutting edge music therapy program at the Denver Children's Home, a residential treatment center for victims of extreme childhood trauma.
Though times are tight for all of us, it’s more important than ever to support work that provides education, tools and hope to those who will make a difference in our world now and in the future.
Help us spread the word and build the movement!
Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year from Fight with Tools!
