Just wanted to post for you all our workshop descriptions that will be at every regional gathering on the Activate Tour so that you can have a heads up about content...we'll also be doing local street team and regional planning for the next year. I'll continue to add content as we finalize it.
Workshops -
Conflict for Liberation:
As we work together in organizing our community, building relationships, and caring for each other, conflict is present in our work. Understanding how conflict exists and what role it has played in social movements in history is an important context in which to view ourselves and our current work. We will also dive into the essential nature of conflict in our own personal Transform processes and build tools together for supporting each other in achieving greater liberation through our conflict process.
Strategies of Change:
What is community organizing? How do we actually change the root causes of why social injustice exists and not just treat the symptoms? We will explore what strategies of changing our community might look like and learn some concrete organizing and facilitation skills. We will also be taking a look at what leadership within street teams looks like and how to more effectively organize ourselves to change our world.
What is FWT?
A conversation about the history of Fight With Tools and Flobots.org, how we work, and what we do. All things FWT including: structure of street teams, the National Street Team Council, what makes FWT different from other social networks, the WATS model, and the role of the FWT site in our work.
