Wow, for those of you who need more insight into how fucked up the government truly is, watch the film the Zeitgeist Addendum. The bottom line is, the more people that see this not for profit film, the more likely an uprising will take place. Be ready to set aside 2 hours that will make you sick to your stomach. Not because its visually graphic, but because of the preponderance of evidence behind this film, unless you brush it off as just another conspiracy theory peice.

Don't you think that people working at the Federal Reserve would lie to you if you asked them questions about their jobs? Don't you think that these so called 'fact-based' books could also have bullshit in them for people to fall in line? You can't believe everything you read, or everything you hear. Personally, I don't trust the government, and I firmly believe that we need a new way of dealing with society. And a new government altogether
I totally agree with both sides of the spectrum on this one. Andro makes a good point in the fact, that these people watch these movies, and the whole-heartedly believe them, due to the fact that it wasn't mainstream media pushing these theories. It seems they tend to think that why would the average joe go out of their way to fool me, only the mainstream media does that. It's information coming from a fellow "peer" rather than the "machine."

On the opposite side of the fence, i also agree with the fact these types of movies, like many of us, including myself get you to think. As appealing as some of the arguments / theories might be, i think it's a personal responsibity to do the research and draw your OWN conclusions, through self-education, rather than just jumping on the conspiracy theroy band wagon. Every story has 3 sides - their version, the other version, and then the actual truth.
Obviously the video is doing exactly what the people who made it wanted it to do...make you think, whether the facts are facts or fiction people watch and start thinking in a way they might not have before. no where in the movie does it say "These are the facts everything in this is the truth!" After I watched the first zeitgeist it truly made me think, not because I thought it was all real, but it sparked my thought-train and I realized there are millions of unheard voices spread across America millions of people who don't vote because they don't think it will make a difference. Those very same people in my experience are the ones who complain the most about how are government works. If you don't put your ideas out there no one will know if you don't use your voice, expect to be quietly raped without lube. If the video sparks up conversation and threads like these then I say Bravo!
If you really wanted to make people wake up and think, you'd just make a movie about how the public education system is designed to discourage critical thinking. That alone would get a lot of people to go, "wait a second, something's not right here".
Honestly that is the topic that I am delicately trying to impose onto my 7 year old. I'm trying to explain the current state of affairs of our world into simplist terms for a 7 year old to understand, but my main point that I am trying to teach her, is to think and ask questions. Instill in her that there is no such thing as a stupid question.I think that is a really good point of discussion though. If the school system isn't going to teach our children to think critically, then it's our job as parents to provide them the resources and the know how to think for themselves. It's a parent's responsibilty to provide our kids with knowledge and know-how, and I think too many parents rely on schools to provide education, when really in all reality, it's the parents job, first and foremost. Breeding America's new youth is something that parents need be a part of, if not take control of. I'm not bashing schools, but i think it needs to more of a joint effort. Parents need to be invovled, and that is a huge part of the problem, because they're not.
But a lot of these parents come from the exact same system and have this unremovable urge to not ask question and follow the orders of their "superiors" (employers, religious leaders, government officials, etc.) Plus, a lot of parents don't want to teach their kids to question authority, because one day their kids might start to question the parent's authority. It's a vicious circle that needs to be broken.
I totally agree with you on that. As far as parents not wanting to teach their kids to question authority because of their kids questioning their own parental authority, that's going to be a struggle onto which I am personally prepared to deal with. I'd rather my kids want to know why I'm telling them to do something or not to do something, rather than just follow. It's something that will probably bite me in the ass, on multiple levels, but that's a sacrafice I'm willing to make. I know most parents these days, aren't willing to take that risk, or to make that sacrafice. They'd rather their kids just follow orders, and do what they're told. I'll admit, I've been guilty of it, but in an effort to change what's going on, through self exploration of how I have done things, it's something that I am trying to turn around in my household, to better prepare them for the world that's ahead of them. My only regret is not noticing this sooner, but at the same time, I think NOW is great time to instill this onto them. The vicious circle does need to be broken.
Bravo to you. I hope more parents can pick up on your example.

Though I can almost guarantee that your kid will get some kind of retaliation from at least one teacher. I remember I did plenty of times when I was in school in the States.

I'd recommend getting your kids to take the International Baccalaureate. I went through it and it's pretty good at promoting critical thinking. Which actually caused a lot of controversy in the States for teaching kids to actually question their countries and governments.

What a wonderful world!
there is one movie and its call "wake up call"

Good for you, the Movement is going to change the world... Keep talking about it...
I watched a portion of this last night. While we watch it, we must keep in mind (Like in the "Is media evil" thread) who is behind it.

Saying that I have an open mind while watching it. I've only gotten to the part of Jesus, and his relation to almost every other religious figure. After watching this portion, I have stopped to research it. And it's true.

I suggest everyone watch it as well. But stop, and look into it. Stay educated, and remember who is behind what. As you learn something, go and research it, to verify.
most definitely!
