Wow, for those of you who need more insight into how fucked up the government truly is, watch the film the Zeitgeist Addendum. The bottom line is, the more people that see this not for profit film, the more likely an uprising will take place. Be ready to set aside 2 hours that will make you sick to your stomach. Not because its visually graphic, but because of the preponderance of evidence behind this film, unless you brush it off as just another conspiracy theory peice.

There have been other threads made about this movie. I repeat what I've said before, I expect this movie to be just as full of inaccuracies as the first one.
What andro said. Honestly, why do people believe these poorly made conspiracy theory movies? Just vote for change. Join community groups, run in local elections, and you will get the change you want.
Plus, the conspiracy theories serve only one purpose, to distract you from the real issues. The government is more than happy to let you go off on these conspiracy tangents because it distracts you from the things that actually matter.
this may be true to some extent in regards to the distracting - but I don't agree with the above statement and let me tell you why!
The biggest point I think these so called "conspiracy movies" represent is the ABILITY to WAKE up so to speak and to see that what we as citizens THOUGHT was going on here in this country and around the world for that matter - isn't true and that is why it leads us to do our own research (hopefully)
I am not saying that this movie nor the first one is the only one you should watch or the only one that could possibly wake you up - but it does serve it's purpose into getting you to think (again - hopefully!)
as one of the flobots t-shirts says "If you are thinking you are winning" and I think that justifies these "conspiracy movies" just as that - to get you to think

I can speak for this from my own personal situation so hopefully you get where I'm coming from - you can read my profile and see that this zeitgeist movie was where it started for me and I have been doing my own research and learning from that ever since - and now I am the organizer of the cincy street team and we ARE doing great things in our community and great things for the flobots and this website as well - so just wanted to point that out to both of you so you could see that not everyone who has seen this movie is not necessarily following it "blindly"

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~Margaret Mead
yeah same I began doing my research after watching the first movie as well because it just left me with so many questions that i felt needed to be answered. But after doing my research and seeing how poorly this country is being run it just makes me sick. But I do believe change is coming in this country and it's all due to the fact that more and more people are waking up and refusing the bs that they've been getting fed from the government over the several years
Secondly - I would just like to say if you have seen it the first/original zeitgeist movie has a wonderful ending - where it states that we are beautiful - as human beings we have the power of love and compassion and a many other things it says - and the power we have as human beings to take charge and change the environment around us and DEMAND BETTER because that is what we deserve.
one of the best quotes I take from this film:
"I am a human being G****mn it and my life has VALUE!" - I believe it was taken from "network" but at any rate I have not seen it before until zeitgeist and it is pretty powerful to say the least!
My problem with these sorts of movies and the theories in them is that a lot of people begin to only focus on theories like "who really attacked the World Trade Center" instead on focusing the issues that are obvious. A lot of the people I know who have been pushing these movies and some of the theories therein look at me blankly when I discuss the need to reform the education system to produce critical thinkers. They haven't put thought into it, and are unwilling to put thought into it because they are so focused on this. And this is 95% of the people who I've met that have openly promoted these movies. They are unwilling to do the research.

That is why I'm so against these conspiracy theory movies, because they are based on impossible to prove theories that distract people from the obvious problems. The problems that need attention but are getting none. That's my problem with them. It's great that it got you and a few others to open your minds and to research into the facts, etc. However, 95% of the people I've talked to who promote these movies are unwilling to discuss the ideas, and are no more critical thinkers than they used to be. They just pretend to be because movies like this give them some sort of fake credibility.
well I would say that I fall into your 5% - but I would also say that if we took a statistic it would be more than 5% - you can't sterotype everyone just from your own "personal" experiences that is why sterotyping is an issue!!!! not attacking you just making a point!!!
but thanks for the explanation - I think we now see where 2 different vantage points/ personal situations come from and lead!
:)
Well, the problem is also that the people who think critically about these sorts of things tend to be less vocal than their non-critically thinking counterparts. Especially because they're open to the possibility of being wrong, whereas those that I've talked to aren't and that's a bad quality in someone who calls himself a skeptic.
I think you can still be open to the possibility of being wrong and still be open to learning something you didn't know before - since these posts about this movie DO keep coming up on our forums - I think what we should do is post the actual inaccuracies of the film - the solid info that is just absolutely not true - would anyone be up to taking on that task?!
Or else it's just going to be the same debate over and over again for new people who keep joining and seeing that movie - b/c as you can see A LOT of new people join and right off the bat they decide to discuss/post a link to this movie - b/c they are probably in the same boat as I - being that this movie is the product that pushed you into this movement - this revolution if you will - so I just think it's a lost cause if we keep debating over the same movie time and time again!!
If I had the time and energy I would pick it apart for you. What always sticks in my mind is the bad lies about the federal reserve. Let me sum it up quickly from the truth:

1.) The federal reserve is run by the federal government, the board of governors are appointed by presidents for 14 years so as not to be affected by the turn of governments. They aren't perfect but they're in the same class as cabinet officials.

2.) The federal reserve branches have 9 board members. 3 from local banks who invested money into the reserve to capitalize it. 3 from businesses in that region. 3 from the federal government. Since only the 3 from the local banks may have any stock in a bank the remaining 6 are looking out for the interest of the people.

3.) The US Treasury sells treasury notes TO the federal reserve, not the other way around. In fact the federal reserve pays for the services of the mints with the profits they make from lending. The main duty of the Federal Reserve besides introducing currency into the market and lending to banks is to process checks. In fact processing checks was their main purpose of day-to-day activity up until the last 5 years or so.

4.) The federal reserve has no private accounts, just money from the member banks who capitalized it and the interest that lent money makes. Thus it is absolutely NOT a BANK. Banks hold private accounts of both savings and loans. Reserves lend or give money given to them back to the original payers. The Federal Reserve calls itself a "Central Bank" for ease of discussion but it is NOT a central bank. Just the nomenclature changes somewhat do to the level most publications are printed for ease of understanding.

5.) The federal lending window charges what we know as the "fed rate" and prime is what banks charge to each other to lend money. The federal lending window is for emergency use only and can only be used to cover shorts or small advances to keep a bank working day to day. The banks then owe interest to the federal reserve on that money.

6.) The share holders in the federal reserve (i.e. the local banks who capitalized it) draw only a 6% return on each share and the remainder goes to pay for administration of the reserve's offices and employees and to the federal government. Each year the reserve turns a large profit which it gives with great love to the federal government.

7.) Federal Income Tax has nothing to do with the Federal Reserve. They never touch each other in any respect. I hear crazy stories about the Federal Reserve charges 35% interest and that is why we have taxes that high. Nothing to that one.

8.) The Federal Reserve was created in a 1913 act of congress so it doesn't show up as a private corporation under any practical law. This seems to come up often as well, suggesting it is some sort of shadow corporation when if people would read the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 they would know it doesn't need to be written under those laws.

Now, I am sure some will disagree with what the Federal Reserve is saying but it is the truth. The fact-based books agree with them, if you were to question a federal reserve employee they would say the same thing. This is the actual truth. Not a perspective of it.

well thanks that's definitely a great start!!! ;)
