shouldnt that lesson be taught at home and not by strangers?
just a thought.
well from experience of being a boy scout it does teach kids intollerance and its rules are a bit outdated, but you cant force a private group, or "club", to change its rules. i really wish they would change to get with the times and allow all guys the experience, but i understand if they choose not to
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) from their inception have always been against atheists and homosexuals, while trying "to teach [boys] patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred values". It is unfortunate that they have discrimination policies, but they are a private organization and therefore are protected by the constitution.

The thing that you should be mad about though is that every four years the BSA holds a "Jamboree", where thousands of boy scouts gather on federal land, such as a military base, the last 6 have been held in Virginia, at Fort A.P. Hill costing tax payers millions of dollars so that they can have camp fires, trade patches and teach discrimination.
discrimination is taught at home.

the time a child is old enough for boy scouts values are already instilled.
Fort ap hill generates more in revenue from the scouts than it cost
not millions for a fire
I've never been a boy scout and never will.

My son is a boy scout and at first I was against it somewhat, but what the hell camping and hiking and learning about ones self and what a preteen can do for community and others cant be all that bad.
The last 2yr's being involved with the scouts and my son(yes we as parents stay involved withour child)Ive meet some fantastic people who give allot of time to community without preaching or setting agenda's. My sons troop is a handicapped troop and what the scouts do for these kids is amazing. In turn I have meet many other scouts and they seem to be open to change and social awareness.
Im tired of people putting blame on "groups" if your child is a biggot ass it's the way YOU raised them if there fat its what YOU feed them take responsibility for oneself and dont point fingers.
We discuss views with our child and try to explain both sides the best we can. He says if the pledge of allegiance says land of the free then why does the gov take so many of our rights away. Not bad for a 12yr old and if you dont like his views I raised him no group so you can point your finger at me.
Well the goal of boyscouts isn't to teach acceptance. The only intenion they have to make boys into men. Boyscouts are a prejudice and sexist group.
They have girlscouts?
BS ALL THE WAY I CANT BELIEVE SOME OF THE PPL HERE ARE FOR IT
THANK YOU
Groups shouldnt teach values to children. Parents teach children values as CSNY say teach your children well.
No group will tell me how to raise my child and it shouldnt tell you how to be your self.

Mass media, churches, sporting teams, politicians, anarchist, vegans you can name and put anyone into a group FWT is a group.
I'll be damned if im going to let any group tell me who's right or who's wrong we have minds that need to be open and if you follow the sheep then join the herd.
As a parent I instill the values of my child as my parents did to me and I hope yours did to you.
We will not be overcome with negative thinking just because you like rap and I like metal doesnt make you or I right, if your open you find the good in all.
FIGHT WITH TOOLS
When my son and I get home from camping with his boy scout troop he's getting his own page on FWT and we can let him way in on the state of the union. Peace to all and take care
the boy scouts arent supposed to teach acceptance... "...develops the core values of citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude, resourcefulness, respect and responsibility".
do you see acceptance in there? nope. do you see faith? get it?
