I was talking with Greg and Rus, and I want feedback. The vaccant lot that we all help to clean up in the Rise video shoot is still an empty lot. Why can't we get some people together and clean it up into a park? We can see if we can get donations to buy it. Also why not name it the "fight with Tools" park or something. We can come up with other names. I am really serious about this and I think it will put our name and message out there even more. Any ideas? Thoughts? Jellybeans?

First off, I wholeheartedly support this idea, and will apply my tools to realize it. Thanks Annie! Any members with real-estate experience as a tool? if so, i think 1st step would be to identify the property owner (and information about their philanthropical values) and get an idea about the lot's market value.
definitely need to do this. i can only offer a ride to people in aurora, and be part of those doing planting and cleaning. but i still think this is a great idea. let me know if u think i might b able to help some other way!
awesome idea guys, anyway i can help let me know
Okay so we have interest but now where do we go from here?
i guess like enviro said, contact property management...then see if some 1(botanical gardens???) might b able to donate saplings, flowers, sod, mulch etc...
So I think while we are all out at Elitches tomorrow we can stop by the lot and get info.
Instead of "Fight With Tools" park, how about you call it the RISE park? Or Rise Together park?

If you can figure out how much the lot is selling for or if it's selling-- do the park thing, and then maybe plant trees, and we can all watch them grow as time moves on.
totally down to change the lot into something usable. Maybe we could get donations and make it a small building or meet spot for the Street team to meet more frequently or have rallies at ya know? so we can actually have our own place to go and rep our ideas and make our voice louder!
this sounds like a great idea...
I agree. Something more should be done with the lot. It just doesn't feel right to "double abandon" it. You've got some great ideas already. I'm willing to help. Let's collect some more similiarly motivated individuals...
Any progress on the FWT/Rise lot? Has the lot owner been identified - I'd probably wait to reveal their identity here until after they are contacted. Maybe Jonny 5 would have time to give them a call:)
I'll check with Annie tonight if she gets to go to the show. I'd really like to help out with this^^
